It seems to be something Acer; 1) Made up, or 2) Has been instructed to answer when someone asks that particular question. But at least Microsoft doesn't like it and say that "it will increase piracy" to sell computers without a pre-installed OS. That's just bollocks! If they actually go through with that and keep their promise some vendors might eventually start providing the market with alternatives. The hard part is still up to us though; to show interest, there must be a rather big request on Linux on OEM-machines.
